Wall Decals?

So I was playing last night, and I got to thinking. It would be pretty cool if the ball left marks on the wall and floor. Not all the time, but maybe when it hits above a certain speed it would leave a mark. Maybe a scorch mark, or a cracked texture, paint smear etc. It shouldn't be hard on frame rates considering all the decals you get in a regular deathmatch. Whaddaya think?

a cracked texture for the walls would be great, maby a little crack noise to go with it when as said over a set speed.
it would give the intension that the ball is verry heavy and solid, im guessing thats how it is anyway.

tbh, i thought the ball was made of polystyrene

yea, i didn't seem to think the ball was heavy either, not as light as polystyrene but something in the middle, like a football

I think the ball is a freaking dense piece of metal. Listen to the sound when it hits a post. Doesn't need to be cracks or scorches anyway, just some kind of mark.

that could also be a piece of very light metal hitting a post, sound would be similar

Ok, were digressing little. The point is, do other people think it would be cool too see the ball leave some kind of mark in the arena. I think it woul be great to have things get scuffed up.

something to add more lag to DB-Cube, just what db needs
80fps in all maps but cube... 40

DB-Lowcube3 = win
Decals? Sure..but only for cube then..and reimplement lowcube or something
Also err..isn't it just a small piece of metal with some kind of...lasery..beamesey..thingies around it? They metal hardly ever gets hit =\
Maybe a scorch but..how come players can just catch it then? While a wall get's damaged ;p

Beats me how they catch it, I just think it'll look cool. I try not to think too much. =P As for FPS issues, it shouldn't be that big a deal should it? I get nice framerates in Deathmatches with decals everywhere, DB shouldn't be any different. And you can disable decals in the options anyway can't you? So you don't see em locally.
