oh btw. this way the defenders can prepare for this better. they hear someone powerup, then they can go on the attacker (who is just jumping up). with altfire you had really no time to prepare.

because as defender you always have to be prepared for 3-4 things, always highly concentrated.
then as soon as you know what he's doing you go on him. but this move comes all of a sudden, you often can't do much then.

it will make all much fairer

1st jump is just i dont even think u can volley

2nd jump ull be hitting the ground and it will trickle over the line

4th jump is just impossible to get it low enough on target

None of this is true but it's academic now. You can put it anywhere you want even without jumping, just walk around the ball.

As Relik has said though, it really annoys me on pubs how no one passes unless you're jumping. They don't stop to think that because the whole of the defense is jumping in anticipation of a 3rd jump volley that it would be smarter to play it under them. Hopefully people will think more if they have to use shoot. Plus this only really affects VO games anyway, you could just dump it in the net with a pass shot if you catch it in reg.

Usually you can easily position yourself between the ballcarrier and the open people, then be sure to jump with them as they might go up (look at them or listen for jumping sounds, usually a valid tactic if it weren't for noisy db-cube /o\), and kill or intercept :o

Be sure to also consider other stuff they might do though, such as simply go for a shot or whatever, you might also not think about any optional space you might be creating for first shot passes to go by.

If they're outside of pzone, instead of killing or intercepting, you can also easily boost them away, if done soon enough this will suffice 8)

It's the same from the back or the side tbh.

Also, one thing:
I understand this fix will be aimed at removing lock after 2nd jump?

Don't you understand it doesn't matter on what jump it is, as long as you jump back or over, or crouch under the ball? :<
edit: oops, It's been discussed :o I forgot a whole page D:

anyway:

Agreed..besides, it's easy to just walk and hold right click, then even after you get the ball you can still get enough time and space to aim and volley...right underneath all of defence ;o

i'll be sure to have some guys playing the beta with me, only testing the altfire from back shit. i gotta make sure nobody finds another cripple way to get those working

Oh it will probably still be possible. I can think of a few ways already but some would be hard (read pretty much impossible without knowing exactly when someone is about to pass) without a large(ish) distance between the passer and volleyer.

large distance makes the move pointless anyway

It's quite possible to jump 3 times, get passed to, land, quickly bash the jump and get behind the ball as it comes from a pzone to pzone distance in db-smallcube 8)

Anyway, gg davidm, this should fix some of it \o/

this shouldn't work with the current pass code :)

If I jump 3 times and land, it should end up a bit higher than when I first jumped right? So that I can not jump over it to volley it.

If, however, I land, and move around the place where the ball will end up a bit, and jump 3 or 4 times quickly, I will be in a perfect position to volley the ball when it comes to that place x_X

It's not hard, just not meant for short distances :o

It should work even with this pass code x_X
