Thats most time the hardest work.. but very easy when u have a background that contains similarly colors. So u can mark (with the cut tool) bigger areas around ur skin.

if the background is generally the same color just select the entire picture in photoshop, hold alt (or shift i forget) and use the magic wand tool on the BG with a good tolerence level (20-30, maybe less depending on BG)

To make grabbing models easier, type "rmode 4" in the console. Other values would probably work as well.
To get a good camera position, type "freecamera 1" in the console.
To zoom in, lower the field of view angle "fov 35".
