Steam is reason enough never to go near HL2 mods...

hey, a good anti pirating device is the only positive thing about hl2

I just love cynics <3
Seriously, who can't?

Deep in their hearts, everyone knows cynics are always right.

You mortals just keep clinging to your futile shallow ideas of hapiness, love and hope ;) pff :p

I'd love to see deathball on another more popular engine, mostly cuz I'd never have gotten unreal2003 or 2004 if it had not been for deathball.. games like half-life i'd get because its fun to play anyway. and deathball being a part of it, would mean a lot happier me.

tho I can agree re-learning re-programing everytrhign is a big pain in the ass .. took me long enough to figure out how to map for unreal :( don't wanna hafta learn hl2 also :)

::sigh::

If DB wins MSU, won't it be a win a standalone release? We don't don't want other games to power it!

not really, you win a licensed copy of the engine, but its not solely for the modification that won, you could release a completely new game from the mod that won. the development/promotion/publication of the final product isnt included.
