Not absolutely...I think that what it will add to the game is negligible, whereas what it will subtract from the game is already lagging FPS...lets be honest a few pixels will not make the game play any better.
I was just amused by DavidM's response of simply "sounds good" when he usually shits all over new ideas even if they are good ones.
IMO this is a silly idea that could just be done by a custom map. (Rage's acme map? doesn't this have a cracking screen?)

Ya, it is more about aesthetics then gameplay. It's just a nice touch, like the postal sound. As for the FPS, I don't see that being a problem, just turn them off if you take a performance hit.

imho it is a waste of someone's time to do this it will be a wow look that is neat one or two times then nobody will ever noticed again

I disagree. It will get a wow factor at first and then fade into the background, yes. But if you took it away after having it for awhile, I guarantee people would miss it.
It shouldn't be that hard to pull off should it? I mean the decal system is already there.

funny thing is that you see "missed" shots near the enemy goal
or wallbreaker moves can be seen afterwards

Perhaps they could be colour coded for each team - to remind how close a team came to an own goal! (red team has red decal on their own post!)

I think red / blue team decals wud be distracting + look silly... i think those decals should only stay a min or so anyway - and only if it is a REALLY fast volley etc.
In that case, i wud like to see them implemented

Yah, would be great to see the wall around the goal peppered with marks. They should only be temporary too, if they were permanent it would definitely start to bog things down. Especially on Twigs server with all the VO.

What about maps that don't have normal walls?
Getting a scorch mark or whatever would look strange on Nov's fence.

Achieving the effect the same way toonball does it would not be practical.
