The basic commands for the channel are here:
If you are in there you can add yourself to matches if they are running.
with !team you can check the current status
with !join k you add as keeper
!join d as defender
!join m for midfield
!remove to remove

Deathball Update from 2.4i to 2.4join (1,6mb)

Gameplay:
-New Banana Physics, no more weird bouncing off.
-Ball rolling now (in the code it's actually walking xD but it looks like rolling :P).
So the years of the ball getting stuck in the ground - in front of the empty goal - are finally over. \o/
-Ball collision radius increased from 10 to 20 unreal units (uu); this was made to make it roll and bounce on the force field, not on the ball.
This has a side effect...the goals become a tad smaller. Also blocking will be a little easier.
Other:
-Ball hissing only at higher speeds (1600+).
-Shown Ball speed after goal now calculated properly.
-Added ball carry sound (humming).
-Added new ball sounds for "hitting surface".
-"Hitting surface" sound's loudness depend on the ball speed; so hard balls make more noise.
-Ball banana rotation is fixed online (the roll animation of the ball).
-New Splash Logo (when you start the game).
-Added welcome messages for Adversary, Curve, Firebird, Flexy, Fragger, Hookr, Humbleone, Klex, Priior, Strafe, Shig and TheBug.
BUGS:
-Rolling ball sometimes warping (only online)

I'll get the forums in it's style too. Something like the good old brown, orange and light blue.
I just started to hate the old one...which basically wasn't a logo, it was just text in a special font we've stolen on the internet ;)

Deathball Update from 2.4h to 2.4i (1,3mb)
Changes from 2.4h to 2.4i
Gameplay:
-Volley banana added. You either hold the banana button while hitting the ball in order to have it curving...or you hit the banana button and volley the ball in the next 2 seconds. The 2-second method also works for charged shots now(!).
-Added 8-way-banana. Added the ability to curve up and down. So mixing these with left and right you have 8 potential directions. [We suggest a 8-direction-wheel mouse to fully enjoy this feature...otherwise you will need crazy keyboard settings...but it works though]
-Ball rotates when it was curved (Bug: online replication of this is a bit laggy, offline its very smooth)
-Banana shots now bounce off in a proper angle from the ground and wall.
Note: this whole thing offers a lot of new shooting techniques and might make keepers life a lot harder and maybe unfair with some things. We will test it in this beta and then fix it in the following release.
Other:
-Ball hisses (louder the faster its flying)
-New bounce/dribble sounds
-Touches stats no more going crazy when you dribble or bounce like mad
-Background in Botmatch and Host menus removed
-Spectator screen now shows the correct pings for all
-Accidental Owngoals by keeper are now being credited to the shooter (so they are no more owngoals).
-Changed Hammer-Ring appearance. They dissapear faster and are less visible.
-Hammer-Rings added to "Smoke-Spark" option in the display options (so you can turn this off now if you like).
-The Hammer-Ring effect is no more visible "through" replays (where the rings from your hitting while watching the replay shows thru...if you know what I mean...ffs hard to describe ;D)
-The default-camera in spectator mode is no more falling down and is now fully working.
-After a goal the camera now focuses on the scorer (only for the team that was scored on)
-Ballheight color in middle radar: increased the area of the color fade, so you can now easier react to the fade from red into green, because it happens slower now.
-Ingame IRC: changed default server and channel to irc.quakenet.org and #dbpickup (the continent-ping problem will be solved by chatting in there then)
-Fullscreen button in display options fixed (was disable even tho the game was in fullscreen mode)
-Ball height in hud removed for spectators

Deathball Update from 2.4g to 2.4h (18mb)
Changes from 2.4g to 2.4h
Gameplay:
-Holding altfire prevents you from catching balls always.
When you get a ball in your back while holding altfire, it will deflect from your back
So you can also dribble with a lying ball (it doesn't need to be moving anymore)
-Increase the "field of view" for bouncing balls from 180° to 225° (so you can also bounce them when they come from slightly behind you)
-Shaketime decreased from 1.7seconds to 1.5s
-Keeper refire rate reproduces online too now.
-Bounces and dribblings no more cause volley delays (so you can finally stop these 'bounce along the wall" tricks).
Other:
-The ball height in middle radar is now depended on the floor, not on the player.
(For level designers: it's checking for the keeper startpoints height; so this might be a bad thing in multi-floor levels)
-The ball height in middle radar is fading from green to red. Dependent on your vertical distance to the ball.
Red means it's unreachable.
-The hammer produces a shockwave effect in red of blue.
-No more server crashes during map change in matches with replays on
-You can now toggle between the F1, F3 and F4 screen without closing the others. They get deactivated automatically.
-Shortnames are shown in F1 screen before all players are "ready".
-"Volley only" and "no self volleys allowed" removed. Because it's ruining public servers and makes the game inaccessible for beginners. It scares them away, because it's too complicated to start with volleying only.
It had to be done, because pub-server admins refused to cooporate. So we remove it game-side.
-Changed names of "short reset" "2 goal difference" and "allow long shots" in the menus for better understandability for beginners.
-Yellow ball smoke looks a lot smoother and cooler now.
-Red/Blue Shot trail not streaming upwards anymore
-Replay cameras work fine again.
-(there's a hidden fart-move...by accident xD)

Installation
If you are updating, delete your Deathball-folder (just save your deathballuser.ini and deathball.ini for the settings) and extract the zip file into /ut2004/ (it should all be in /ut2004/deathball/ then).
Changes from 2.4c to 2.4d
Game:
-shake bar always red to avoid confusion. when the bar is empty, you can shoot properly again.
-no more shaking after dying and respawning.
-"altfire with no lock"-power increased from 0.7 to 1.05 (might have some surprising side effects, can now also been used as soft goal shot)
-when you catch a ball while having rmb held, it wont release by accident anymore (requires to press rmb again to pass then)
-no more getting "stuck" on own team players with shots; also easier to pass past someone via rmb who is very close to you
-fixed colors in server browser (yellow on yeloow was hard to read at times :P)
-remove singleplayer option (too buggy atm)
Maps:
For now removed all maps except the main ones (Smallcube, Echo, SmallcubeSE, Cube)
-Added DB-Duelcube, its for 1on1. After one goal was scored, the next one opens (you'll see).
-Echo: fixed blue posts; cave visible in lowest detail mode; fixed wrong color firework
-Cube: invisible ceiling higher; keeper spawn points fixed; fixed ball reset not working sometimes
-SmallcubeSE: fixed radar; different ceiling; fixed 1st spectator cam being outside of the map; added 2 more spectator cams
Future
The plan is to fix a few more things (through 2.4e and maybe 2.4f) and then release Version 3.0 as a real full version release.

News Details for changes-0.02s Big Catch Radius Delay added (0s -> 0.02s) AND Small catch radius reduced from 84 -> 50 (No more getting stuck on players behind you!)
-Keeper update rate higher (0.5 -> 0.15; meaning you turn into a keeper faster after joining your pbox)
-Keeper can leave pbox for 5 seconds and get back keeper status then (increased the time)
-Keeper Volley Delay removed
-Removed trail in Singleplayer
-Removed pbox hud icons
-Reduced shaking time from 1.9s to 1.7s
-Visible shake bar (still wrong position etc, dont mention this bug)
-Keeper's hammer hit frequency is twice as high, but it's not replicated properly yet. Don't mention this bug to me.
