Ok this just happen so i thought i would bring it up. I was playing in a server on temple (which i know it generally a volley only map) but the motd specifacly saids "this is not a volley only server" so i shoot and get called a lamer...

personaly i feel that those that are forcing volley only on a server that clearly states it is not for volley only are those in the wrong and I in the right

I am sure there are ppl that would disagree with me but you know what if some one saids thier server is not a volley only server i feel i have the right to shoot if i feel like it... if it didn't say anything i would scede power to the fact that it is normally a volley only map

when the game is running under volley only, is there anything that says you are in vo when you enter the game? maby when you enter some message box could appear that stays untill you click to spawn in. like um.. under the motd text but is like some rules box that states "VOLLEY ONLY IS ON: SELF VOLLEY ONLY" or "NO VOLLEY ONLY IN THIS ROUND" i dunno

this doesn't even have to do with volley only being on... just ppl playing volley only in a server that clearly states it is not volley only and then exspecting other to do the same

If its not set as rule there is no volley only! No matter what people say. In F2 screen you can check it, it's called "OnlyVolleysCount=true" or something

I did not see an option for bOnlyDistanceGoals in the game rules but it does work. You can not score from inside the ENEMY penalty area. Yes, you can self goal inside yours.

MeSSisH{FCU}, DavidM is right, you can shoot and score if the option is not on. You may piss people off, recieve negitive comments, and get banned from some servers. The choice and risks are yours.

You are correct, Unrealmachine's deathball server does say "not a volley only server" and people do play some maps on that server volley only.

You don't often see the option because it disables touchdowns and can't set per map.

obviously, you dont play in NA a lot.

There are maps that are always volley only, and others that aren't, and they are in the same rotation like smallcube, temple, smallenclosure, and so on.

We dont play the same map over and over (cept in pugs)

Whoever is running that server (its Psycadelic Beer Machine, i believe) needs to take the volley only maps off of the server, if they don't want volley only played, or else it will be volley only on those maps weather they like it or not.

you are actually wondering why DB-NA is dying and no new players are coming?

I prefer playing on a server with a low ping, so I end up on an European server as I'm from Europe. The same goes for DavidM(and most other Europeans). It seems the logical to me

dis the point is that if the server saids it is not a volley only server specificaly (if it hadn't said anything i wouldn't have shoot) therefore i will shoot @ goal enough said... anyone that disagrees talk to the server admin and get him to come and tell me otherwise...until that happends i am sorry but i don't like vo and i will shoot kthx.

though i do think there should be a way to make just certain maps in a rotation VO so that you can make sc VO... also make an option for TD and Vo

why not have map vote have volley / no volley option when voting for maps. Most votes for the map, most votes for the v/vo shot.

also, why is there an option for spawn protection and why is it set to 2 seconds?

finally, spam protection needs to be activated whenever someone stops mid game to type, which causes everyone to lose concentration and hurts the teams potential to gain an upper hand on the flow of the game i.e. that guy is open but typing and his reaction to a ball his way is lame at best leading to an interception, meanwhile his team is boosted his way to help him form up Offense, and the ball is already in the net before they hit the turf.

Typing is for IRC unless you are directing a plan of attack or defending the net. Usually the typer is the one who screwed up the play to begin with.

And when it says "THIS SERVER IS NOT A VOLLEY ONLY SERVER" then it's the players that called u lame that r in the wrong...It has happened to me b4 a few times...I just ignore them or leave...unless it's low numbers.
