Keeper volley latency

With the keeper volley radius being reduced so much in 1.7/8, can you please get rid of the keeper volley latency. It doesnt serve any purpose anymore other than pissing off keepers trying to volley away crap with the uber nerfed gun.

the volley radius of the keeper still covers the entire net.

If you can aim at the ball and click your mouse your a pro keeper.

ouch, remember v1.2?
there was no latency

play it and figure out why its very bad :/

its unscorable against a keeper who knows how to use it
these limitations all have a purpose

once i forgot why i put in one limitation (self volley latency) and just let it remove.........and the n00bcannon was born...it was originally added to prevent just this :/

you could reduce the acual volley radius on the keepers hammer to near nothing in the keeper crease (which would be scaled down to exactly the net size or a little bit beyond) so it only covers like 1/3-1/4 of the net and make it delayless....

I'm thinking like the exact range from the player to the cross bar if they look straight up.

Lowering keeper volleh latency is a good idea but also a bad idea imo. The good thing is keeping will be that little bit easier even if the radius is lowered, as most keepers are next to the ball when it goes in the net anyway. But the bad thing is that it would be harder to score, not to much of a problem tbh, since most games keepers only let in 1 or 2 goals (with the exception of the DBL game last night =)

I've been a keeper since 1.3 and looking back on things, I learnt in comparision to today (The hard way). Not a bad thing tho, as I have learnt not to take certain keeper skills for granted.

I still like a challenge, if its going to be changed alter it only a little at time, it will take a bit longer but the end result would be far more sweet.

you dont even have to be a good keeper at a LAN, just let your character sit infront of the net and go punch the shooters in the back every time they start charging ;)

idd volleying away means u probably have a 50% chance the other team will catch it again, and they will get it trough eventually O_o.

afaik most keepers try to catch it, and only use volleys as last resort (am i right? ^^;)

^^ Depends, most good keepers will deflect the shot out of the field or at least to the side, where defence and clear it easy

I dunno what's goin on in 1.7/8

I tested the volley radius of the keeper and its 3/4 the size of the goal width, which seems about right, yet during games i miss so many more volleys than i used to in 1.6 :eek:

Something fishy has happened with volleys from 1.6 and i cant work out what it is.....

nope, dont have one.
It's fine tho, coz i got pass bound to my right mouse button :) that works just as good for me.
