Putting the Death back in Deathball

With the current implmentation of the deflection system that people arnt very thrilled by, what about bringing the deah back into Deathball using it.

In the short delay of .02 seconds or whatever the deflect value is, make the ball kill the person being shot and the ball then trickle from their death body slowly (like a 1/4 charge shot). This would make the game harder to camp in for Pbox campers because they will get killed. The ball would also have to be going above a certain speed, say 3/4 charge. This could be used by offensive players to get through defensive players and be the solution the Pbox campers that sit at the edge and wait to gib you. You just shoot it at them and pick up the ball for an easy shot. It will encourege them to attack you outside of the Pbox before you can charge up enough to hit them or shoot the ball. With the slowdown in shot power it will also make it near impossible to shoot with and the keeper will be immune to the gib effect.

On the other hand shooting the ball at a friendly player will do the current bounce effect but will lose power and fall to the ground more quickly.

ok.. let me expand this thought...

Since the ball carrier and regular players run the same speed forwards and backwards that means you can back peddle as fast as you can run forwards. This means the shooter cant just Gib someone randomly because you can back up past the .02 second time frame fast enough to prevent getting killed. It makes the defenders back off and force the shooter to either give them the ball, let an arrent shot go, or try and redirct the shot to make it a pass. Its russian roulette when it comes to ball posession.

If i am defending and i hear someone charging, specifically on the outer P box area, i would normally rush them and hit them so they let go of a shake shot.

This sort of stops that by giving the shooter the option to try and shoot at the net or kill the defender, try and grab the ball and get a shot off. since shake and overcharges go at 70% power you could never kill a defender with the OC or shake but you can kill them before they have the chance to hit you. It also makes it so people will want to hit you at the beginning of the charge opposed to near the end where you have no chance of savign the shot.

Its more a preventative to Pbox camping than anything. If you Pbox camp you dont know how to play defense. period. This is the way to beat them without dancing around like an idiot trying to avoid getting hit.

If you think defending is hard now you have no skill. Go play 1.3b where there was no loud charge, no shake, and a smaller volley radius on your gun.

If anything defending is too friggin easy and abusable, stacking 4 people infront of the net to prevent goals, sitting in the Pbox to shake and gib, spamming away a nice pass that you should have no chance of intercepting.

A lot of the NA defenders have quit DB because it got too simple to defend and lot appeal. RIP and CorMega, prolly 2 of the best NA defenders quit. Scarface, 13th, G-Money, Sync, and others all quit (some of who came back).

how can you say this?!?!? tell me the maximum score by any decent team against another decent team in a league match......

I can't be sure since im in Australia but I'm guessing about 4-7 MAXIMUM - that is sweet fuck all for a 30 minute match.....

if anything happens after a defender is gibbed from surge's idea it would that the keeper would pick it up and/or kill any attackers going for the ball....imho defending is one of the easiest parts of this game.....
