Goal hanging...

Dont know if this has been mentioned or not, probably has, but Im new to DB. Thing is, I dont mind hanging as much as the next guy(girl), BUT! When on public servers and everything is as unorganised as fuck, hanging is a sure-fire way to win a match.

So, to fight against this, which I know most people hate as well, the next version(or a small fix) should have offside introduced into by default, without being able to switch it off.

This would prevent hanging totally, it would be impossible for any player on the opposing team to hang at the oppositions goal and haveing a large lob passed to him ready for a quick one-two with the other hanger, or an easy shot, against just the keeper.

This would also enforce teams having to actually play the game with PASSING, yes that thing you dont see often on public servers, decent passing, its all lob to the hanger score, we win.

I dont see why this feature was left out in the first place, its impecable that it should have been here to prevent people from just sitting around at the oppositions goal all day, waiting for that long pass, so they can walk in the goal.

Anyways, enough ranting, I just hope, that this is a feature which is implemented in the next release. If it aint, then public DB servers will still be the same. hang, get a pass, shoot, win. Simple.

Unless people actually start playing D, midfield and decent passing. I know there are those who do, I wont mention them here though, but for those of you who do play like a team, I congratulate you.

Ive said my peace. Bring on the flames.

Simple answer: No.

Slightly longer answer: No, get someone to play defense or do it yourself

Meh they've been planning to implement offside for a long time, no?

So yeh i guess u have a point, imo it might the game better w/o totally changing gameplay.
It would be a good change (optional = good tho)

(if only for pubs..)

Offside, wouldnt be a crazy idea at all, although yeah, making it optional would be better.

But so many public servers are full of hangers, with no-one playing D, plus I do play D, all the time I get a chance, cause no-one else will, most times im stuck in net, which I quite like, but when I am, theres no-one on d, and its 3 of them against me when they have the ball, its stupid.

Offside, should have been in from the start, and yeah I change my mind on the optional, it should be.

Bottom line, offside,w ould make the gameplay better, it would force people to play tactically and as a team.

the major problem with offside is that it can be abused very easily

i too, intially thought offside would be a good idea, but after changing my playing style (and watching the general playing style of most players change over a few months), the effectiveness of hangers are eliminated.

plus certain maps would be a bitch to code. (chill).

This has been discussed many many times before and almost everyone came to the conclusion that offsides would suck. If some guy is goalhanging and no one is playing D on him, it's their fault.

so if u have offence in the game. what would happen if the defence simply Stayed at the middle line. u cant pass to some1 in front of you. and if some1 tries to walk to the goal defence can boost and kill easily. shooting agaisnt the backwall from the middle would be rubbish aswell.

The problem with offside and pubs is noobs or assholes who would goalhang anyway and would ruin the teamplay.
