these crazy buttons hardly work ingame. the games only know mouse 1,2,3 and scroll up and down. rest might be there next generation.
until then we use mouse software

Have you tried editing the deathballuser.ini directly?
i.e. under [Engine.Input] put mouse3=command, mouse4=command etc. I had to do that for the thumb buttons and then everything worked fine.

hmm.... i'm using a logitech mouse + software too, and mine works...
don't you have that tab "Mouse Game Settings"
i use the game detection feature and check the relevant boxes... only problem i ever had was if u went into windows mouse settings, it changed it back to the "OS" setting and u had to go back into the logitech software and change it back to "SetPoint" setting to make it work again
helpful ?

using some of the latest setpoint.
i set deathball to use "-" for magnet and setpoint triggers "-" when i hit the thumbbutton if ut2004.exe is running and in focus

With the Logitech software I think you need to change the button assignments to 'Button 4" and 'Button 5' for the thumb buttons. I don't think it defaults to that, for some strange reason.

I've never tried SetPoint. Seems you can't. You can in Mouseware.
A piece of software called
uberOptions will fix it so you can in Setpoint (I think xD).

the suck button is on the mouse middle button, the wheel (which also makes bananas ).
No need of crazy settings etc, it just works fine that way for me.
Topspin and downspin buttons are in the keyboard.

from what i found out till now, setpoint is only for fancy mice. i have a dual optical mouseman.. and its software is mouseware. (9.75)
i assigned a key to the thumb button (left) it works in windows.. it registers when i press in the ut2k4 control settings screen..
but in game.. nothing happens... im starting to wonder if it's a db problem...
ill try assigning it to MOUSE4
