Wow, I was just curious today, after looking at some Unreal Tournament 3 screenshots, to see if people still played DB?

How's the community of players lately?

I haven't played since it was 1.0-1.1 era only available with UT2003.

I used to map a crap load which I'm sure some were played to death.

So ya, is it worth coming back into? I loved this damn game back in the day.

I hope people are still playing cuz I think I'll be hitting the pitch again soon

I know the NADB community is dead except for VO 3v3s on 2.3 or 2.4k-XtremeVO

Looks like we need to edit 2.4r to NA standards and call it 2.4renaissance cause right now it's more like 2.4ruined

Actually it's been like that for a while... last NA 5v5 on a 2.4* version was February 14. KEEP 'EM COMING!

i think im playin it for a year now or something cant really say. started with 2.3

funny thing is 2.3 was released 2 years ago.

i didnt start when 2.3 was released i started playing when this version was out..


e: i think it was a month or 2 before 2.4 was released when i started playing db

well, i stopped playing after 1.9, so im completely lost atm

and what happened to sprint, i miss it

It never caught on outside of Australia, if I remember correctly.

lol sprint was awesome, cept once we all learned to sprint jump it was very broken

it came back.. using it was impossible for me

and that sux. cuz how they have the ball now, it never stops rolling, is perfect for sprint.

and this still appears to be the volley whore game it was turning into when i left, so i probly wont be getting into it again. but its cool to stop by and see all this still here.
maybe someone will make a real soccer mod for ut3.
i dunno if david will remember me. on the original forum i posted a huge list of features that most actually ended up in the game or he was already working on. i was a rather vocal person at the very start of db . i hated the quad jump, boost, and the insane volley speeds (which have actually been toned down i see) and some other things ppl would think i was crazy for. i was always a purist to the soccer roots. but oh well, life goes on.





what happened to surge. me and him had countless arguments on gameplay. i think we were more entertaining than the game at times.


EDIT: oh ya, i do remember you to monkey. that is what was great about db. a small tight community for quite a while really made the game then. to bad nothing lasts forever.

if i'm getting nostalgic then i'd love to go back to 1.4b but time goes on.
