UT2k4 Skins in DB - Done

As a lot of you know DB has been doing horribly due to lack of interest and and what not. A lot of people have requested to DavidM to put UT2k4 models back in. Unfortunately he didn't give a flying rats ass so someone else had to do it.

Catalyst - Our savior! \o/

She quickly made a mutator to put the skins back in. It's a couple of simple steps to use it but it gets more complicated if you try to upload it into a server. For more info on how to do that, speak to DevNull or Croaker. You can usually find them on irc #dbmixer on qnet.

Cat said she will try to do something about the fact that you have to change the character through deathballUser.ini Once she gets back to wherever it is she codes, she'll try. Until then we'll use this and there appears to be little flaws.

This is the newest version.

There is a readme inside but just in case here goes:

UT2k4 Skins in DeathBall!

After downloading the files, put them in your deathball/system folder. In the same folder, you should have a notepad file named "deathballUser.ini"

Where it says "Character=dbplayer", erase the dbplayer and replace it with whoever you want. If you're not sure of the name open up UT2k4.exe and go to settings, and then player. Click on change character and on the top of window that pops up should say the character's name.

All credit goes to Catalyst, thanks! <3

\o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/

Hooray!

EDIT Kaaaay... some skins end up UT2K4, but most skins stays like... this.

EDIT2: Woot. Remove the dbPlayer.upl form the system folder and no messed up skins. \o/

EDIT3: WAIT! I'd rather set the botuse to 0, lemme check if that works.

EDIT4: K, do this way. (If you use bots.)
Open the dbplayer.upl with notepad and look for Botuse= and set it to zero, repeat with every other bot and you're done. :D

any chance someone can explain how to set it up on a server?

Pretty straightforward..

Upload files to the ../ut2004/deathball/system/ directory.
Edit the appropriate server ini file to include the serverpackage.
Run it as a commandline mutator or set it so it is votable in whatever votesystem you use.

Hmm, robots, aliens and Mr.crow and c:o still sounds like humans. :/

Still, it's a good job. :p

EDIT: It seems to apply only to players too. :(

Jafo's botmanager is your friend if you really want to edit the bots.. Now that I think about it, that sounds like something to see at least once. And I also want the SpaceRobots. They are here to protect our server from the terrible secret of space.

Please go stand by the stairs.

Note the option to have them on or off per client in the mutator settings... although I guess the other option is to force them off by not running the mutator.

EDIT: Ah, okay, you meant that anyway.
