I'm curious, how popular is the NBA in Europe? I know there's a lot more international players coming into the league than ever before, Gasol, Stojakovic, Nowitski, Parker, etc. Where would you rank the NBA in terms of sport popularity in Europe?

Those players are kind of old Foo.

The NBA is pretty popular in Europe. I went to London and my cousin kept asking questions on how the game is playing since all of her mates play the sport.

DB'ers such as klesk and l0af are into it as well.

Yes, and I think I can safely say football (soccer) is our most popular sport no?

In the UK, you'd be hard pressed to find any Basketball coverage (local or international) in the press or on TV.

Personally, I hate it. Indoor, high-scoring, non-contact sport? No thanks... :)

Football (proper football kthx :p) is king in the UK. After that in popularity, a mix of cricket, rugby, tennis and motorsports.
Most us-centric (nfl, nba, baseball) sports get shown late night on Channel 5. There's a small but dedicated following for them.

I love Bowls <3
Saw it for the first time a few months ago and... it's so fascinating :D

Anyway, most popular sports in The Netherlands would probably be:

- Football
- Tennis
- Formula 1
- Cycling (or whatever..Tour de France stuff)
- (Ice) Skating
- Hockey (normal hockey, obviously..not Ice Hockey which is a totally different thing)
- Basketball

Its growing fast, but people dont realise that NBA > BBL. There is the occasional BBL match on channel 2, and NBA is shown on early wednesday morning iirc.

Id say its about as popular as tennis

(Jr darts is so boring)
