Hey guys, I know david wants this idea in, and I have given thought to it as well. When I texture the character, I will try and give enough space to try a name on the back, but it will have to be a floating poly over the character, close to the back to look right. And alot of times that doesnt turn out to look as cool as it is in theory, also i made that round thing on his back to house a #, to also see how that will look.
So the idea is still being tossed around so to speak, its not completely out, but if it looks like ass...and I can't get it to not look like ass:) Then needless to say, you guys will have to deal with your names above you.

im really not sure how it works at all, but i've seen mods with sort of like, dynamic textures (i.e. in first person view, when you shoot a gun, the numbers of bullets is displayed on the gun, and it changes as you fire) couldn't you use the same idea as that does?

it's very possible.

Numbers ain't such a bad idea, might be easier for players who would rather have that showing versus the little icon above the player. Just a thought.
