Mappers! Please update your 2003 maps to 2004

There appears to be some issues with older maps taking a loooooong time to load on servers. Many maps are classics that I would hate to see fall out of circulation. If you're the original author, or know who the original is, the update process can be as simple as opening the map in the ut2004 editor and resaving it with a new name identifying it as a UT2004 map.. NO REBUILDING is necessary.
Also, please refrain from converting works that aren't yours. The original author has all the rights to it and it wouldn't be appropriate homage to that original mapper to rename their work.

could you name some of the maps that you would like converted, we could just post the updated maps in this thread to keep the boards clean

Note: UT2003 maps- static mesh collision must be pre-calculated during each map load.
Also note: Opening the map in the ut2004 editor and resaving it breaks compatibility with the original one.
I am in the process of updating all my maps.

As you know, all my maps have already been updated. HOWEVER, I would advise you to redownload DB-TheWarehouse2004 since I had to update it with an extra texture package. I've tested it thoroughly and it has proven to be safe to overwrite the newer texture package.
You can find all my maps here:

And Twig hit that on the head.. exactly what I hope to eliminate with the slow server mapchanges and precisely the reason the original author should be the one doing the conversion. So they can officially release them with a new name to avoid conflicts.
Armagon.. cool.. I will snag that newer version from you later on today. My upload is screwed up on Comcast's end lately too.. this could be a loooong night.

Imag it would probably be a good idea and go through the maps to take out the bad/buggy ones.
DB-AF-Guadalajara-101.ut2 is bugged, the Pzone is the entire half of the field.
Antean and Antean][ are both really bad maps.
Blister has no distance resets and is low-grav so yuo can literalyl wast ethe entire game shooting it in the air or putting it somewhere un-hitable in the lava around the map.
Those are the maps that come to mind.. may be more duds

Whoops.. list edited... remember it was a cumulative collection over the life of deathball sofar.
Warehouse2004 looks like the website has the version from the 7th.. is that the current one? Also, that texture file is it edited from the original one that comes with deathball? DBShipTex.utx

It shares the same name because it's the older version of it, a lot of textures were taken out of the newer version and they were being used in DB-TheWarehouse2004. However it is safe to overwrite the newer version with the older version.

that lowcube is fucked up weiso the red goal static mesh has no collision, and half the cameras are outside the level, so they either have no sound and or are buggy, like the oens inside the net D:
