Shaken altfire?

Post by DavidM »

I consider having the altfire shot shaken too.
Means when you get hit as ballowner and fire with altfire in the next 0.9 secs the shot will go off aim "meep".

I always feel so helpless when the guy im attacking is using altfire, really not much i can do when he has 100 health. Think as defender, not only as attacker when you reply.

Lemme explain how I'd see the changes if a lock pass would shake.

When you are hit by someone on the field and you want to pass. Just don't pass immediately, wait 0.9 secs and pass before the guy can hit you again. Done.
Or pass before he is even going to hit you.

Other situation, i am defending a guy close to my pbox. In my back i see someone running into space. And right at the moment where he is in space and the pass could be played, I tackle him and, if he did pass now, it would get shaken. So he should have held me on a little distance.

OR
only shake altfire with no lock. so locked passes are shake free.

Just want to gather some opinions.
Will probably try it in a beta and let people play with it for at least 1 week. After one day everybody will just moan moan moan, because its new and its a little harder. But the defender would love to abuse that, because its more fair now.

I have to say I had given this idea some thought myself, but I'm not sure if it would be an improvement or not.
I suppose the only way to find out is to give it a try. :)

It.. sounds right.. but like lynx said..it affects the entire game.. make a pickup privately with it first, then ask for opinions

I don't like the idea. Teamplay is good atm and shaken alt fire would make it too slow again.

Gameplay is very well balanced atm, shaking alt-fire would only disrupt that and make it even harder to play (for noobs)

alt fire shake = good idea.

I still don't like the fact that the shake for normal fire isn't as long as the charge time...So you hit someone as they charge up, but you're slightly too early, they charge up to the max and pull off the shot without the shake. But it probably won't get changed now...
