So... I've struggled with a very particular part of this puzzle: How exact are the pin locations? I've been trying for the past 2 hours to connect the pins to real locations, but no method makes consistent sense, and some of the pins even point to the middle of nowhere. Heck, the map is not even to scale!
So I guess my question is: How exact are the pins located on the map? Are pins on the smaller 3-4 countries just exact enough to determine the country, or would I need to look closer?

The pins are accurate enough to do what you need to do (perhaps with the exception of one that I know of)
