i've continually had to drop gfx settings down with each version of db for 2k4 to get playable framerate on 10-player Cube.
I'm currently on 30-40fps with 2.1e
-1024x768, low texture detail, not many gfx options enabled
-rad 9800pro, athlon2400+, 1.5gb ddr333
regular ut2k4 runs smoothly at 100fps+
(edit: and 65fps with everything at full detail, aka holy-shit mode)
from what i can tell, it seems like the code just needs a shitload of optimisation. maybe that should be the new number2 priority (bugfixes take no.1 of course)

UT2k4 settings: Minimum everything.
Average FPS in DeathBall 2.0 = 90~120
Average FPS in DeathBall 2.1x = 30~60

On three different servers I've observed a wierd rythmic pausing every 3 seconds. I wonder if it's my client, but others see it too.

lag = pause in game the it comes back to realtime? defo had that today

for some it got a lot better, for others even worse. for some (me eg.) nothing changed at all

no problems to report here, other than one that im putting down to lag when attacking the person who has the ball, the hit didnt seem to register.. but its only happened once on a laggy server

definetly not as much as this now for me, not at all in comparrison tbh... 2.1 ran smoother... but thats not to say.... actually 2.1c ran smooth.. from 2.1d + it went

Yes - like I've said a few times before. Once a second the framerate drops for a millisecond, but it is enough to make the game lose it's smoothness. It's not a new problem - but it does seem to be a lot worse than before.

i mean if you go back a few version dont forget to increase the volley power like you did.... i know the volley power aint be touched from 2.1c - 2.1e

The random pauses/warps/however you wanna call it appeared with 2.1e, just like the nice little crosshair bug.
But overall the smoothness is decreasing with every 2.1 version.
Last match i played i kept looking at the F6 info. No packet loss and ping ~100 as usual, but it felt like i was playing with 25% and 120ms. And trust me, i can tell the difference
