I really don't make demos of myself, since I don't think anyone really wants to watch 30 minutes of keeping. Keeping isn't the most exciting thing, and most of the time I'm just sitting back and enjoying some music and making fun of whoever is on O whenever they hit the post or whatever.
I'll start making demos tho, and make fraps videos of some good stuff, although if you really want to learn keeper...I rather go in the server and tell ya some tips

You don't need 2 PCs to do it...

If you read an older thread, F1end offered to do this, and he knows what hes doing and has the shit to do it (does this crap for a living(although he does like macs aswell :p))

working with unreal-demo files is useless

my videos still look good. I have a 2nd PC I use just for video editing... I guess I can try this Live recording. I'll check it out some time and see if it's worth the quality difference.

Well, I was planning to output it to my mac, at DV quality, then edit it on there...and as for kick-ass camera angles and stuff, just use 1 of the spectator cams, zoom in the right amount, and, sorted. Could all be done at a LAN at my house (comming for another visit Robo and Drifter? )

And WHY are demo's useless??Why not use server-side demo's?? u say they are too choppy, and jerky (ie low frame-rate), but how many frames a second do u think an avi can show and still be a downloadable size?

You just assume that 'cos we play deathball we are just kids with no talents or skills......does it suprise you that I produce video footage, 3D animations and mix live at big dance music festivals?...You want a fancy intro sequence...fine...you want nice cuts (i assume u mean nice effects like wrapping up the picture on the screen, and it bouncing away like a ball, etc.)...fine...all u have to do is remove your head from your arse, stop assuming every1 that plays deathball does nothing else, and try to help the people who are trying, desperately, to help a community that is dying because the lead designer keeps insulting half the players, and doesn't seem to care that the game is too hard for new players to pick up b4 they loose interest.

an optimized .avi with DivX 5.0.2 codecs you cna make addapt to the required framerate for the shot making it a variable frame rate and you can make movies sometimes as low as 1 mb/minute of play.

And have u seen the compression quality???

i cant say i have, but there is a way to do... on a wide shot of the movie where only 1-2 people may be moving, or its very simple motion, the movie drops to a low frame rate (like 12) but still looks very smooth and save a LOT of space.

I can tell you they certaily are good quality as long as there sno extremely fine lines or small text.

the guy at 3dbuzz uses this format, might want to drop him an a-mail if your intrested but i know nothing on the subject.

yeah, also with divx 5* there is variable bit rate encoding, which means that the amount of information per frame varies on how much it needs to change - get great optimizations again. Although tbqfh , the XVid codec sems to give superior quality to Divx these days, but i dont know much about it (never ripped anything with it)

Dammit...and I was gonna use "MS Video Codec 1".... o_O

Just for fun... Australia started to make a full on motion picture deathball movie...

Story:

Characters:
Hero: ... Stu
Hotz0r chickadee: (insert favorite pr0n star)
Evil DB captain: Zonk (current boyfriend of Hotz0r chickadee)
Old wise hick: Now hiring
N00b team 'star': Deacan (he's really the craptz0r)
Teammates: 3 others - support cast. Setup the hero's shots.
Opposition teams fodder: Mainly to get scored against
Zonks teammates: 4 mean-arse bastards... thugs ... with stylish hair.


Scene One:
- Boy meets girl
- Girl has boyfriend who is captain of local deathball team... zonk
- Zonk is evil.. with a patch over one eye.
- Zonk sees boy with girl and fires his n00b cannon at boy - knocking him down
- Boy is humiliated as Zonk steals the girl away. Vows the become the cough... "curve master".

Scene Two:
- Heads to training court where some old hick schools him in the art of the volley

Scene Three:
- Boy joins local n00b side. Put in goals by existing ego driven captain 'deacan', who insists he must score all the goals as he is the curve master.
First game - 3v3 on smallcurve.
- Deacan has right mouse button unbound and keeps going on solos that go nowhere.
- Team is getting ow3nd by n000b right click shots. Opposition is jumping on boy after each goal.
- Boy spots girl in crowd. Reflects back to his training court days with the old wise hick...
- Deacan gets splattered once more... teammate picks up the ball... boy sprints out of goals call teammate to 'put it up'.....
- Spectacular volley goal over top of the other teams n00bs from the '4th level'.
- Girl cheers
- Old wise hick nods approvingly in crowd.
- Zonk enters crowds steals girl once more
- Teammates flock to our now hero - whose saved there team.


Scene 4:
Flashes to much game action.
Hero pulling off many the spectacular volley over top of many other teams on lots of maps.
Deacan keeps getting splattered.
Girl in crowd cheering.
Old wise hick nodding approvingly
The team progressively starts to celebrate goals with more and more choreographed 'dance routines'... i.e. all five run to the center circle... then form a circle with backs facing each other and do the 'pose taunt'....
all five form a congo line and do the pelvic thrust...
etc



Scene 5:
Random plot points:
Zonk is captain of leading DB team.
Teammates thugs. Footage of some in game thuggery with teammates knocking opponents out of the way, while Zonk strolls in uncontested to goal before pulling off the n00b cannons.
Post goal celebrations include 'gangbanging' opponents. i.e. all 5 members surround some opposition and beat him up... or pelvic thrust.. your call.

Scene 6:
Girl meets up with hero in post locker room. Tells hero that his next match has been scheduled. He'll be playing Zonks team.
She doesn't want him to play... afraid for his safety.
Hero gives speech on oral hygiene for some reason.
Girl falls in love with hero.

Scene 7:
Mandatory sex scene between Hero and girl.
Much pelvic thrust ... pelvic thrust... PELVIC THRUST!!!!


Scene 8:
The big game.... on November.
- Boasting from Zonks team pre-game as team’s line-up opposite each other.
- Game starts - thuggery from Zonks team.
- Same style as before - Zonks teammates clear path for the n00b cannon goals.
- Hero gets ball and rushes up field ... tries a 1-2 with a teammate for the volley. As soon as he leaves the ground he is knocked and sent flying by one of the thugs.
- Ball gets turned over and another ZOnk n00b cannon goal.
- Repeat a few times - large lead to Zonks side.

- Deacan somehow picks up the ball and sets off towards goal.
- Zonks team all leave their thuggery and sprint to Deacan.
- Hero’s team all sprint and get open... call for ball... Deacan doesn't pass and gets set upon by all 5 of the ZOnks side. They hammer into him and much gibbage.... Deacan is no more...
- Slight pause... then the hero’s team all announce.. thank Christ for that... now lets go win this game!
- One of them points out... who'll be our fifth???

- Old wise hick from the crowd spots the dilemma and enters the fray... to much bemusement from Zonks team. He comes into huddle and tells teammates... not to worry.. he's got a few tricks up his sleeve...

- Game restarts... old wise hick shows his 'tricks'... first one... all defend inside the box... the thugs are afraid to enter... Zonk tries a long-range curve shot through all five of the hero’s team... but is saved by the keeper...
- Old wise hick BOOSTS hero downfield ahead of all the pack... ball is passed up to hero who gets the vs keeper shot and scores.

- Now we see some trick moves from the old wise hick... curve balls off the side netting for the volley goals...
- Behind net antics... gets ball behind goals - sprints around for walk-in goal.
- Launched to behind net. Receives ball... turns around - loops back for the volley score.
- Bounces ball over opposition. Darts around to collect and shoot for score.
- Passes to opposition, who looks confused to receive it... then two of hero's team attack opposition from either side for splatter... turnover... ball sitting on ground.. volley goal...
- Think of other 'trick shots' to include

Game gets tied....

Hero scores winning goal with spectacular boosted from own half to be on the end of a cross from the corner post for a mid-air volley goal... (Lets see how many takes this shot will require :p )


Closing scene of girl running onto field to be embraced by hero... and then team-mates all jump in for a mega gangbang.... watch for the old wise hick... that guy is HUNG!
