So what?

Huh? Not your switcher toy.. the Deathball beta. I like giving people choices on my servers. I can only do that if two deathball versions DON'T use the same filenames.

And why are you telling me that? What does it have to do with my tool anyway?

Imag likes to complain about things in any active thread. Yours is the only one atm.

Wouldn't call it a complaint..
I'm just pointing out that if for example, version #s were used in the Deathball coding/map builds, the beta could coexist on the same server as the release. You could then switch the server to either on the fly via UT2Vote. Ditto clientside. No need to exit the game and swap files.
More importantly, no need to bind a server to a version that isn't being played. End result being more effiicient server use and game swapping that completely removes the versioning headaches from clients. They just connect and play. Bam!
Too easy?

It is definitely a good idea but thread jacking? tsk tsk. :p

Well, in fairness, it wasn't a derail like "oh this reminds me I forgot to get milk while I was out".. It was more like "hey, if they would do xxx, this tool wouldn't be necessary for some people."
Further, if the files are tagged with version #s, they can be redirect hosted and thus make it even easier for new people to play. Hell, if someone with version 2.3 connects to the server, he'll be a little surprised to find himself in 2.4x, but I think he'll not only get over it, he'd be delighted.
