TEZC-Axl wrote: tbh you really HAVE to listen to Harold about keeping.. he is prolly the best keeper out there, and prolly knows more about keeping than anyone..

And I agree with you rens, there was NOTHING wrong with keeping before, so why change it? to make it easier for DavidM to score?! I think so :(

Dammit Axl...stop reading my mind, i was gonna post this...

Harold is THE keeper...if these changes make it hard for him...the rest ain't got a hope.

ok david, this is what public beta testing is for. you want feedback to see if the changes are popular and your getting it.

These are the ppl that play the position you have affected most with the changes youve made, you know nothing about keeping. They do.

By all accounts, these changes suck

now here is my opinion.
If this is your attempt to make scoring easier then your not approaching it form the right angle. historically, almost every change has seen defending get easier so if u wanna bring the goals up, clamp down on that.

Maybe make the shot power up more quickly or be faster or sommit. Or, a totally different idea i had about this - make it so if a player is in his own pbox (and he isnt the keeper) his health goes down (pretty quickly) long enough for him to be able to go in and come out the other side, but not long enough for him to just stand there for a minute. dunno if that'd work in practice but at least its trying to solve the problem from the right angle imo.

Your ideas are weird nab :p

I still think if the keeper is out of the keeper box and running around the pbox, others should be able to either knock him/her around a bit(not enough to slam them too far, maybe the equivalent of 2 feet)
But if they are in keeper box, things for them are normal

Look Nab, now that is a nice idea :p

Keeping is fine as it is in 1.6 and shouldn't be tampered with...

Harold:
"i want to see some demos of clan matches where keepers stand in the far left corner and dodge to the right. lmao. im pretty much ALWAYS in the middle of my goal"

you are in the middle...fine, i wish all would do that
but what you described at first works...it must be stopped
but since you are in the middle this change wont affect your keeping
Only thing that we'll change again....atm doding is also a bit slower, will have to speed it up again

Larc: "i hate seeing people stand one one side and dodge across, keeping is about more than reaction time"

thats the point...

Nab: "you know nothing about keeping."

hm, i do know how to do all the stuff in theory...and that's all i need

I know all the theory about quantum physics, but I can't put that into practice either... :D

if you want to increase goals the only fair way is increasing the standard goal size.

errrrr lol?

is that strange to you?

the standard goal size was made too small and since then DavidM has been trying to find a way to correct it with out changing the size (keeper latency being one example).

if the goal was made bigger there would be no need to handicap the keeper.

no, goal size is alright, just dodge lenght is not well balanced there...

ppl who stand on 1 side of the net and just dive across to the other side of the net are the noobiest goalies around U_u

they dont save a thing!

if you shoot right at them they dodge out of the way most of the time…

its certainly not the best way to keep and any decent striker would love it if thats what they found themselves facing on a 1 on 1.

in a 1on1....sure
but not in situations where you have to score from 25 meters
pretty unfair für the scorer

but if they dont keep a ball that way its no problem for you pro keepers anyway

so why the keeper latency?
