because 3D is the worst thing that ever happened to gameplay (no in all genres) and comic looks rather stupid in 3D as well

2D is the way to go. 3D does nothing but remove vision that i'd like to have

Maybe you could use the RPG Maker. The graphic is rather bad, but it's very simple to use.
