1.4b by far was too easy really and not fair for D, but was fun as hell kthx. 1.3b was alot betta i guess cause you couldent pull a broomstick kthx i win:P

"broomstick" was possible in 1.3b....
just nobody discovered it by that time, like so many other things

Yeah it was possible , but without free jump its hard cause i rember in 1.3b that jump thingy wouldent jump sometimes when i wanted to jump kthx

ah right, the jump thing
in 1.4 it was working then

you couldnt even boost in 1.3, it was pretty luck depended

Well i do miss dribble from 1.4b, but i went back and played that version and notice how too easy it was to dribble over people cause of free jump. Atleast make 1.7 a lil faster then 1.6 slow dribble to make space since broomstick will be dead kthx

dribble against a good d was not too easy.... davidm the point is not to take db actauly back to 1.4b... we all know that won't work. A lot of what is wrong with the game is HOW ppl are playing it now, so what i think we are asking you do is to change db gameplay back to what it was in 1.4b or 1.3b, this doesn't mean put the values back but make the difficultly of certian things back to the point they were back then.... which in my mind means: limit boosting, make shooting the most used way to score, stop pbox camping, make good passing of great importance again, i think if you could do those things you would make a hell of a game (like db used to be, i have put probably 100 hours into this game so it was defeintly really good at one time) if you want some DAMN good ideas look at what rampart said in his last post... it probably would need some tweaking BUT i think it would breath life back into db

Yeah, but he's big on "ego" plays like dribbling and stuff, but you have to understand that all sports have the stand-outs. If you are good enough you should be able to use the tactics like that.

In basketball, dunks and such are all "ego" plays.

And in your beloved soccer that you compare DB to... well we can't all "bend it like Beckham".

when theres a lot less of us we cant all be sheep. People and teams devise individual moves. Those individual move affect game play (like the cY boost trick) and catch on to the community.

Being the guy on a team the jumps over all the defenders with dribble is better than being the cheap team that does boost goals.

Right now all the moves that make people stand out are not skillful, they are cheap tricks and teams are known for them...

as it is now, lets all go play sheep ball, VO, no noob cannon or boost goals, and try to beat the pbox campers.

I'm not sure what the issue is here...

1on1 (ie. no defender, just keeper vs dude with ball)
offense wins every time

1on2 (ie. 1 defender, one keep and then dude with ball)
offense is out numbered. Why would you expect to score?

2on2 (ie 1 defender, one keep vs two guys on O)
O scores almost every time.

Basically the way I see it, defense only wins if they outnumber the offense...

Offense has the advantage.

Dribbling to go over a defender lets the offense win when they are outnumbered.

1 - um no, unless the defender has picked up db the day before, he's gonna stop him

2 - well duh, the o is outnumbered

3 - still, the defense will stop the o, unless they do a boost trick

all and all, 'good' db playing is dead, and by good i mean having a shooting oriented offense and a talented defense, boosting and pbox camping ruins the game... figure a way for the offense to beat pbox camping by shooting and you eliminate pbox camping and boost goals for the most part

perhaps you didn't read my post.

1on1 should not be considered 'defender + keep vs attacker'

1on1 is attacker vs keep.

**Edit**
I do agree tho, that with boosting there are 3 guys flying all over the field at all times, which you really shouldn't see.

whenever i see '1v1' i think of it as an attacker against a defender, the goalie should always be there as a constant o_O
