Well, turns out I was on the right track, but was wrong on how to interpret the background clue.
Not to discourage others that are trying to beat this level on their own, but without the hint that I got from amh in PM, I could have spent another year, and I would not be able to solve this.
I think I have a quite possible solution. I mean, not clear exact answer, but I think I've figured out what is the relation between pins, title and background. But I'm not sure if the direction I've taken is leading me to the final answer or maybe I'm on the completely wrong road and this is only a waste of time. So far I have tried some asnwers in my hypothetic theme, but the didn't work, so I'd prefer to know if I'm only going into a deeper darkness or I just have to search a little bit more.

This tip saved me a lot of time and sanity. Keep it simple: yes or no.
This level was... difficult. Needed some extra hints.
Came back to this level after a year and still stuck ,but i think i am on the correct road,but not really connecting all the hints together !
