Long story short, I got onto this level today, but I'm spending the week in a house that doesn't have a printer. So i wasn't able to print out, cut or stick anything. Still, I was able to figure out a general shape from the image, and then use the clues to get a good enough idea about how to form the answer from that. Then I just followed the shape with my eyes to work out where the numbers ought to be when the 'thing' is fully assembled, and I got the answer first try!!

I'm so happy rn )
