SLayde.. coming from another recent noob... here are the things i found i had to learn after i kenw the basics...

(1) use ur radar very often to keep track of player movements

(2) BOOST BOOST BOOST! (boost ur teamates towards their goal if we have ball, boost u tetammates towards ur goal if they have ball).. when boosting.. use an upward angle of about 45-50 degrees

(3) start off with O.. D is a more complex position requiring different skills (checkin radar, analying opponent offense.. moving to right spot.. timing interceptions, handlign opponent boosts..etc..) onc u get decent on o.. then u can move to D and perfect it (if willing)

(4) bug Chrisfu to get the Dba working.. and join it :)

my tips:

1) Don't be a ball hog. Look for a pass first
Best Assist, and Pass Hero are LEETER awards then scorer!

2) don't be afraid to be creative. if you know players are moving at the other goal down the middle and your near the wall running toward a ball on the ground and another player is on your ass ready to beat you down when you pick that ball up hit the ball into the wall at an angle so it goes either up and over you back to the middle or sideways etc.

3) similar situation as two cept your chasing. boost the player up in the air if you can before he reaches the ball, makes it easy to scoop it up while he's freefalling

4) if a ball is cleared by your or their goalie to the vicinity near you, and your next to a player. take the initiative to boost your fellow player at the ball so your team can take possession asap (just don't boost them up and over it plz)

5) vary your shots. (don't always pass -like me-, don't always shoot, and don't always volly)

6) most of all be patient when you have the opportunity. if you get the ball and are getting near the goalie on a break away, and are not to confident in your skills to score. move to the side and setup a cross volly instead

7) pass shots are a nice tactic on some average goalies. (goalie makes a move first to gib you and you pass under or over him to score)

8) help other new players, tell all your friends to play. and most of all. your not appart of the community if somthing bad happens in game and you don't say GG DavidM! :)

latez!

the best advice i can give ya anyway is : dont let people scare you away, i cant help it but DB isnt n00b-friendly, it takes some time to learn and its not an easy community for clans to stay alive, my suggestion, make sure u come on irc and just be weird, people seem to like it here =X, :)

In reply to Inphidels listed item #4:

I would recommend that you boost your teammate downfield towards the goal you want to score in. You can then pick up the ball and have a target to pass to rather than having two teammates close together. This is provided you don't have enemy within 2-3 seconds of ball either running or boosted.

very good point savwa, i'm way to used to smaller maps :)

let me rephrase it a little. if the ball is in danger of being picked up by the other team before your team.

now this brings up one more point!

once you decide what your going to do! think about what you might do right after!
