I confused about the # definition, I can't understand it. I have some ideas about what it means but I can't find the right one, could anyone help me, please???

Just solved, but it appears a change to Level 8 affects this solution and has not been updated. Just in case anyone else is driving themselves crazy trying to figure out why your answer is SO CLOSE but doesn't quite make sense.

I've been stuck on this level for 3 days. I think I have the user name, but I can't figure out the password. Can I PM someone to make sure I'm on the right track?
