I'm on this riddle for almost a year now (I'm ashamed to admit, but honesty is important). I have been on this level 3 days. I found a file according to 1st hint (I hope that's not a spoiler), but it gives me nothing.
I have a very specific question, but I don't want to post a spoiler, so I'll just ask generally: do I need to go to another level in order to solve this? Am I thinking too hard?

It's 23 pages of "Yay, I made it!" I didn't read 23 pages for my undergraduate.
Oh hell, all I get is a jumbled mish-mash. I must be doing something wrong, but I think I'll come back to it another day. I'm too desperate by now. Cheers for the tips
