The problem is that my job as game designer is bloody useless at the moment, because it's only about fixing bugs in the code.

the fact is... people comes and goes. reallife makes people leave too. i dont think only the 2.4 makes people leave the game... its because people got better things to do.

Bingo. Stop blaming different versions for the amount of people leaving.
Sure, it would have meant that Playstation 3 and BD-ROM players would've been released sooner and in greater quantities. As it is, Europe's PS3 debut has been delayed further for that very reason. Has nothing to do with Deathball, but neither do any of the other excuses I've seen so far.
