League Match Statistics

Post by Astroboy »

Hey. Not sure if anyone here plays Warcraft 3, but those who do will know that the scores of every single game is recorded, which is pretty neat.

So basically, I'm not sure if this has been asked already, or if it is already being done on the DBL page, but it would be pretty cool to keep track of stats for each game. Things like who won the awards, who was keeping for how long in each match, how many goals/how many shots taken. Things like that. Just seeing "TEAM SLAM BEATS TEAM ARRG 5 to 1" is kinda boring.

a section on the website with the option for the team admins to post screenies of the matches would be cool. If only to confirm the score and who was playing (and save frosteh's math issues :P) just make sure you save them as .jpgs! o_O

only problem is most matches at least 2-3 people have to drop cos of bugs, which means their stats are lost :(

that's true.

I guess that bug is something worth fixing.

I'm sure it will be gone by Version 2.6 or so. :p

Write into DB version 1.8 ( wait for next season? :/ ) some sort of logger which will log the stat events to an external host (configurable of course). Maybe send it out via UDP and you could just have something processing the stats at the other end. :)

thats for normal ut2003 stats.

ngstats were a big thing in ut, but then epic chose to take the stat logging and analysis on themselves. but sucked at it, and its kinda useless now

no, useless because it looks for 90% at your playing time, and 10% at points
DB aint about the points :p

A stats logger and parser will be included in a later version of DB.
