What are you listening to now?

Anything by Etymotics or Shure, or of Ultimate Ears' higher end products is very good apparently
I've only listened to the relatively cheap Etymotic ER-6i and I'm very content with them
Shure also has some new sets that supposedly do very well
I'd say go check out http://www.headphone.com/products/headp ... r-monitor/
As for good closed headphones, the Koss UR 20 seems to be pretty good for only about 20 dollars, and then there's always Sennheiser's HD 280 (they're nice imo) and the cheaper Sennheiser EH 250
ps: Now playing Dance of the Seven Veils (From Salome) by Herbert von Karajan and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra ;p written by Strauss (<3)

I'd go for Audio Technica ATH-A900s myself. Similar to Senn's HD595 but closed and with more bass. The midrange can be a bit distant though (*cough* sorry for the audiophile speak). The limited edition is supposed to improve this a lot.
Do you use the foam tips Messy? I've never got on with IEMs myself. They never seem to fit right, which obviously affects the sound quality. I guess I could try some custom tips.

Nah, I didn't like the foam tips, and the standard tips (what's that made of? silicone material?) seem to fit me right

Sometimes they start hurting I guess, after 2 hours or so..I still prefer my HD 555 anyway

ps: And the ATH are a lot more expensive than the ones I suggested, I *think* ;p
Not really the best thing to recommend to someone who's starting out on that stuff

Bunny never said anything about buying headphones in the first place so it hardly matters. :p
IEMs are never good for comfort. I'm not really that keen on them really but I guess it's the only way to get great sound quality and isolation in an easily portable form.
Do you amp your phones Messy? I'm looking to get one for my HD595s but I'm not sure if it will make much difference.

They must be very open if you can hear the rain. :O
Still, seems you don't listen to music very loud, which is obviously a good thing (if unusual in this day and age).
I can often hear my computer's case fans while listening to quiet music. My PC used to be even louder a few years ago. I really need to get a quieter case.
