One thing you could try doing (if no one has stated this idea yet) is to make a tennis racket, but replace the strings with an energy field that automatically shoots out at the ball (the same way you see the energy waves shoot out of the shield gun). So in the animation, you swing teh racket slightly and the burst of energy hits the ball. What do you think? Too hard to do? Already had a better idea? Prefer the normal 1.7 gun?

i think the problem is that a tennis racket in the classical sense is held to the side of the body, and this is where the ball contact is made ... with the ut2k3 shield gun, the 'impact' from the gun comes from just infront of the player, rather than to his/her side.
I may be wrong, i often am (im sure she said yes)

HiHo!
First of all Tennis really rocks but there are just less servers without pw. Anyways i found a little thing thats not true in the rules: When sb serves and the other one on the other side "volleys" its a fault but actually its point 4 server than... And when ball is "netroller" at serve and it hits the right field its actually repetition, not fault...
And this "bug" (i actually dont know if its a bug, i mean this flying thing) sucks and to all kiddies out there: Stop buggin or usin this when u serve, thats really lame and bitchin! sry 4 bad words but that makes me angry... the_one and others know... however thanx in advance...

ok 2 things,
we know volleying a serv is a point to the other team, but we think this is a needless rule in db tennis because it wont give the advantage to the returner like real tennis.
"repatition" officially known as "let" isnt needed, this is because servs in db tennis are so fast, and the net isnt made out of an actualy material. because of this if the ball htis the net it will always land outside the service area anyway, in which case its not let in tennis.
in tennis it must clip the net AND land in the service box.
the bug is a db bug, we're debating if we should release a fix..or if thats too confusing

u have got to be kidding me?
the serves in tennis are so much faster than in db tennis that it's not funny.
personally i'd ATLEAST double the power on ALL shots.
p.s. love db tennis by the way! ^^
