hm, dunno if this helps. but i'm using a tool that lets you shutter via a remote switch. only slr-cameras support that tho.
so you have the button wherever you want it

how about you get one that activates the shutter just before a drop of water lands on a drop of water so you can take pictures of water

well some people use switches that get activated by sound i have seen some neat pics taken by this method.........

Price/quality-wise a good deal afaik!
If I had the money to shoot dslr's I'd go for a Canon 20d for sure. Then again, I haven't got much money =)
