You are all wrong!

The Sun is about emperor Hitohiro having to give up his godly status during 1945 :o
It's all brown and very dark, and it certainly wouldn't feature a house floating on a river (with chinese architecture) ;)

Oh come on :( someone please recognise it (without googling/wiki-ing for floating houses!) :D

Pretentious?

It's a good film :( how come nobody has seen it? :)

Should I just gave it away? :o Or should we play the game? ;)

Floating house wasn't a big enough hint?

There's an underlying theme of growing into an adult and the trials one undergoes doing so - keeping in mind some restraints from the buddhistic ideal of a good (and humble) person.

This is also shown by some very important recurring elements, including changes in the pet owned by the 'master' in each chapter of the film, and the climatechange in each chapter (very important hint: it has a lot to do with the five seasons), as well as a view from a high point in the film, where the camera looks down upon the floating house.

Every chapter that point will be higher up the mountain, a sneaky suggestion that tells you a lot about how the lead character's perception of the world changes as he grows into maturity :)
