coming late to this, but...

manhole covers are round because notpron contains two of only one letter, so the designer created an iron o and stamped .htm on it. When he got stuck on level 79, he threw it though the window. But maybe that's just me...

Actually, manhole covers being round first came about not right when the first sewers were built, but shortly thereafter.

The reasoning behind this makes a lot of sense. You see, originally there were no manhole covers, because qute frankly no one in their right mind wanted to go down there (ancient diets were not kind to the digestive system, if you catch my drift), so there was basically 2 ways in: The drain at the bathhouse, or the outhole.

Eventually the system began to get clogged and someone needed to get down there and take care of the problem.

They cut triangles out of the ground originally, because back then people were a lot less intelligent and worshipped the triangle (??) . Unfortunately, they soon discovered that the plumber didn't fit down there. They also discovered, much to their dismay, that just because gophers like to burrow, and just because you throw them down an immensley deep hole full of burrowable (??) ...'stuff', doesn't mean they're going to do their job.

Sooooo eventually after the backup got bad enough, they decided one night at dinner that their Triangular Deity had abandoned them, and they took up their dinnerware and marched to the temple, where they threw various eating utensils and other dinner paraphernalia at the great 3 sided stone monument to the Half-Square spiritual leader, chipping at the corners and knicking it up beyond hope of repair.

After several minutes of this display of anger, and a moment of silence to collect themselves, a child spoke up. And with his childlike "what in the world were they thinking" way said "Hey, what if we just made the holes in the ground round, so that Mario over there can get down there and get this poo smell outta here? maybe we'll be less angry"

And that's how the wheel was invented.

Or round manhole covers. I forget

Well polar bears tend to wear wasitcoats in the summer, so the manhole-covers have to be round. So if they loose a button they can use the covers as replacements

Because my man-hole is round, and I want whatever covers it to be round as well.

Actually "roundness" isn't a physical condition of the manholes, but a hypnotic state that all humans submit when they are born. Manholes aren't round, technically they have no shape at all, like an uncorporeal being.
The thing is: everyone feels the presence ot the manhole right there and the brain already computes the existence of something pretty much round there. It's a bit like schizofrenia ^.^

This thread is too long for me to read through due to the aggrevating level 6. So i will tell u why manhole covers are round without checking if someone already said it, sorry if there is a repeat.

Manhole covers are round for one reason that has been staring at the face since you entered this thread. Simply because they were destined to create this thread. No ifs or buts about it, that's it.

I would like my prize in the form of the answer of level 6 and a promise to help (not spoil) me with future levels. Good day.

Phones don't ring, they push little miclorydians into producing a death scream, which sounds like a ring to a human ear, but in fact is the force being crushed by this vilanic technology

as the old saying goes: every time an angel sings, a phone starts to ring.
