Basically Deathball with rugby style rules. This would obviously mean:
You can only pass the ball backwards (so perhaps the ball carrier speed would have to be the same as everyone else). Also this kind of offside rule would be extremely easy to code for, i guess.
You can score in the 2 regulars ways like in rugby with the points system they have.
I think we'd get more of a passing game than we do nowadays.
i think it would be fun for the most part actually. I'm a pretty big fan of Rugby but no one around here likes it very much so i have no one to play with. The only problem with playing rugby is you'd need a lot of players opposed to 5-6 per team.
being a rugby fan and an ex player from years gone by, id love this idea, although rugby only works with at least 7 a side, and this decriment in numbers does change from the "origonal" game play.
If someone made a mod, id play it
Have to leave out the kicking forward can be picked up by anyone behind you thing, coz ppl would boot upfield then boost teammates that were behind the kicker
numbers would be required to do a proper defense and the amount of hits before a frag would have to be increased because play is gonna be much closer up. maybe instead of frags 2 or 3 hits means you drop the ball?
yeah, something like, after one hit all you can do is pass, not kick/shoot it forward, and after two hits you drop the ball and slow down to a crawl for 5 seconds or so.
hang on, what about gaelic football... its not too much of a change from db, it would be really interesting if right click pass was taken out and there was wind to make shots over the top harder. sif that wouldnt be tons of fun
there would be no rules, the only goal is to get the player WITH the ball in a certain zone (so shooting the ball there wont help)
Pretty easy to do i guess. Adding a Teamzone/Goalzone, which activates when a player with the ball enter this zone. Just like the same way as it is in db, but with no visible goals.
um, that's hardly rugby. i don't want to be picky, but that can surely be done through maps like harvester's football map, and it kinda sounds like gridiron.
