Different time of the year has different consetelations that are easier to spot. But yes you can only see them at night.

*even more confused* I was told that - wait - that Earth is always wandering around the sun - always the same way - with nothing more than two other planets between them - How can Earth be wandering between the stars then?
Is the sun wandering between the stars?
Or did I misunderstand the whole stuff?

Well.... *points his hand a minature solar system appears floating in the air* Yes we do wonder around the sun, *points* this us us and yes only 2 plantes seperate us from the sun. The journey around takes 1 year and all the while our skys change to what position we are looking at throught out space. We don't wander through the stars persay.

More likely different schools.
