I found a better solution for framing the mat goals.
You can actually climb those ladders and get to the top floor this way ... unfortunately the ut2k3 models do not have a climbing animation, although the ladder volume would leave such an option.

maybe put the ladders on the sides and not have a second floor above the goal line, at least within the area of the pbox, I can just see n00bs sitting up there all game.

I've got an idea...instead of using a ladder - make a small trampoline jumpad, so it will fit the theme and do the job
