the thing with the Tug-of-War idea is it doesnt really modify the gameplay. All that is happening is to win you need to get 'x' more goals than the other team...
how about have the goal difference relate to something like spawn time... so if you are 3 goals behind (score of -3) then 3 seconds are added to your respawn time.
so the losing team has to work harder to gain lost ground... just like a real tug of war
true, i figured the means to win is harder then normal db. cuz if your losing then you gotta score just as many as they have scored just to even start to make a win for yourself. and if there was a tournament in such type of game. a good game could last a very long time if there was no timelimit. which can be nailbiting fun.
not sure if my comment about tug of war made sense, just make it so the team scores a point by reducing the opponent to 0, and play first to 3 points or something...
Just make sure that if the next person to pick up the ball is the same person again, it keeps counting, so people just pass it to others instead of to themselves.
Maybe count a volley as -1 second (so 3 volleys as a self-pass = death)
