I still don't agree with the red afro being available to someone on the blue team. Sure we've got radars to find our teammates, but if you glance up you're looking for colours and I find myself looking twice these days to ensure who is friend from foe...

I can see your problem though, and ya, the colours blue and red should be available for that specific team only.
instead of taking it out, just tweak it
say the red hair is color 7 right
person 1 picks color 7 (still following me?)
just make color 7 work accordingly to the team that person 1 is on, in other words, if that person is on team red, make his hair red...if hes on blue, make it blue. He can support his team and it wont be unfair

red/blue tops is fine, if there were 6 base models, 3 red topped and 3 blue topped, each with a diffeent top pattern design and then those extras you custom go over the model, that would be fine
