agreed, king continued to show remarkable composure when he was brought on...
Terry was solid, but didn't sparkle... injury perhaps?
the boy Rooney is a fooking legend. best player of the tournament by miles.
(nedved a close second)
1st goal wasn't James' fault. For the second, well, where was the man on the far post?
good to see Scholes get on the scoresheet. YOu could see the difference it made to him immediately.
Owen continues to improve, and for the first time I feel he deserved his place in the squad. Creating the opening 2 goals.
Would love to see him score now.
Edit: Cenny: how can you say they aren't playing well. When they went a goal down they showed no fear and no panic. Thats a sign of a mature and confident team.

Relik, they are playing good, but i dont think they are playing enuff to win the tournament, its like i said England is a country of great passion and love for football, but the english team in not THAT good.
And they showed mature and confidence vs. Croatia, yes. But its Croatia. When they played France, a team full of stars, they showed the exact opposite, they couldnt lead with the pressure in the end.
Portugal is the opposite: very unstable against teams like Greece and Russia, but more mature against Spain (made some mistakes too thou), i was quite surprised to see that spanish actually seemed more nervous than portuguese, considering they only needed a draw.
And besides, imagine England without Rooney in this Euro2004. Do you think they would make it to the quarter finals?
My opinion is, if a team that plays vs. England manages to put some strong marking on rooney, england loses the game.
