DBC Beginners' Events

Post by Panda »

On June 11th DBC will be hosting a Beginners' Event. What this means is that certain servers in Europe and North America will be made available for newcomers to DeathBall to come along and learn the basics of the game.

This will co-incide with the official opening of DB Community and marks DBC's commintment to the community which is expected to include many more new players as a result of DeathBall 2.0's release.

DBC representatives will be present on the servers and will also be available on IRC (#dbcommunity on Quakenet) to answer any queries that newcomers to DeathBall may have.

Currently, the following servers have been generously offered to us for the Beginners' Event:

NPU: 62.212.74.111:7040 - Europe - Participating between 7 and 9pm GMT - Staffed by Mongeh and Achilly

Bud2: 66.208.105.239 - USA - Participating throughout June 11th - Staffed by whoever is available at the time

Flauschi's: 62.93.201.50:28000 - Europe - Participating from 7pm GMT onwards - Staffed by Flauschi and Rage

sD: 212.11.68.131:9000 - Europe - Participating between 2 and 4pm GMT - Staffed by Feediko and Panda

Deadly Sports: 213.202.197.216:7777 - Europe - Participating throughout June 11th - Staffed by whoever is available at the time

DBL3: 62.212.75.207:7200 - Europe - Participating throughout June 11th - Staffed by whoever is available at the time (DavidM, creator of DeathBall will be on this server)

Passwords (if any) will be posted nearer to the date of the event.

A big thanks to those of you that have offered us your servers. If anyone else would be willing to donate a server, your generosity will be greatly appreciated.

OK Rage, we'll station you on the next Euro server that gets offered (Titanium said he'll try and sort one out for us)

The Australian DB server (provided by OzForces) should be available (as ever) for people. I'll try to get some people staffing it during the day. Homer has already talked to you about this, I believe.

IP: 203.17.15.214:7700

The server is public, and will remain so during the event. It's currently on Beta 4, but this should be upgraded by the 10th. Just a note, we play Australian DB League rules, so we may focus on quite different skills to other servers.

Firstly, thanks very much indeed for making it available. Secondly, that's great if you teach different skills, do whatever's best for your community

Well, as Panda probably knows, the Australian newbie event has moved to the 20th of June, but people are always welcome to join Ozforces - the ping will make it "exciting", at the very least.
