A lot of people I've spoken to have said they HATE the new customizable player models and want the old UT2004 ones back, or at least the OPTION of using them.
while i kinda hate them cuz they always end up becoming a bald cancer patient. they have potential to be cool if they get down with it and really work hard on the skins. and alot of different looks and possibilities. and esp. a female i can gawk at.
other then that i'd rather have 2k4 till they are ready to really impress me with pwning stuff
I'm with David on this one. Giving your MOD a definite 'look' is a good thing. Having the 2k4 models was fine to begin with but this is a step forward to making DeathBall its own game.
Also I didn't hear people complaining when they used new skins/models for CounterStrike or Tactical Ops.
Once they are sorted out properly and the customization works correctly people will want to see that kind of thing in other MODs too. Well, i would anyway.
I understand TV's position on this as well, but I would hope the door is left open for custom models/skins. It would be a shame to lose one of UT's big selling points.
* The bald look.. Hell, that's what I normally look like!
how about just allowing players to do both, you can still split apart from ut2k4 but allow players to play the same model theyve been using for 5 years. theres nostalgia with wraith and all the old school ut guys it just seems if someone wants to use one or the other it wouldnt be that big of a deal...

Why do you have to?
You gonna replace the Unreal engine too?
so they have better chances to win the contest *cough*
i voted for the ut2k4-models, because the models are just too ugly (yeah blah not done, add it as an option then untill the models ARE done) and it's too hard to differ certain players because they look all the same
DB needs to find its own unique visual style. An unfortunate side-effect of this is that the default ut models *must* be removed. It's all or nothing, and I think that the custom players are the way forward. Give it a bit more time, and soon enough we will have enough custom options to rival the Fifa games
