OMG Deathball in true 3D???

Post by YoYo789 »

In today's newsapper, there is an article on the launch of Leadtek's "x-Eye", glasses with a monitor for each eye capable of displaying 800x600 pixels. This provides the opportunity for wearers to experience true 3D (real depth perception rather than simulated depth perception). And it's all powered by a single USB connection.

Whilst I don't think that the 3D will be particularly good with only 800x600 resolution, the technology is there, and soon we will hopefully have 1200xwhatever in both eyes, which I imagine would be incredibly realistic.

Imagine playing DeathBall/<Any FPS Game> in full 3D, with a 7.1 speaker 3D sound setup, talk about immersion.

Do you think this will be the next big thing gaming-wise, or just a gimmick?

Here's a link to an article... looks amazing.

i have 7.1 (leet) and 3d glasses (not leet)

its showing 2 cross hairs, 2 radars etc when you are looking at something farer away, useless that way :)

the 3d stuff always used to be useless gimmick shit so far

I once saw a (p)review of 3d monitors, monitors that actually showed 3d images without the need of glasses o_O

That's why you put the radar on one eye only?

that looks weird too
the hud and crosshair are just annoying in 3d :/
in the end to me its a gimmick that makes you play worse
like force feedback or so
fun for 5 minutes, thats it

oh especially the crosshair is not showing the thruth
especially when you only have it on one eye.
depening on what you look at, the crosshair you see is aiming at something else, so you dunno where its actually aiming now.

crosshairs only work when they are done in 3d, like a laser ray or something
