nice...
America deserved a slap... they (in the whitehouse) think they r the leaders of the world.... funny...
(Before you starting to hate me, and call me twat etc.... i feel sorry for the american accident too, but try to image: there r other countries in the world, not just the BIG america...
- Facts:
The earthquake in Iran was a natural catatrophy.
The WTC terrorist attack was a crime against humanity. No military individuals were targeted, but simple innocent people.
Nobody deserves to die, except the ones who cause death itself.
It's stupid to think about whether or not these people deserved it (which is stupid, because they had done nothing to the people hijacking the planes, nor to any of the people organising the entire attack), the Taliban, or whoever were responsible (didn't Osama, the Taliban's leader, say: "I did not do it, but I am happy for it having happened either way"?), just saw generalised Americans, and hate grew towards them to the simple fact that America is to them the personification (on a nationwide scale, but I can't find a better word) of all that is western, and thus evil.
Why? It doesn't matter why, people can think anything they want, and I'm sure that anything u can and can't imagine, has been in the head of some random psycho some time.
Just that situations like in Afghanistan, where a large number of the population can not read, and is desperate in bad circumstances ready to blame anyone but theirselves, they are easily misguided when one of them stands up and has a certain amount of power.
In a country like afghanistan, power such as that is easily reached.
If you have their trust (which is not hard if you are from Afghanistan and are a normal man), and have the ability to read, you can tell them anything you want, simply by saying it's in the Koran or whatever.
I'm just saying that, anyone can have this power, and the chance of it being someone with strange ideas to divert their rage to whoever they want, is pretty big.
The terrorist wasn't about the individuals, it was about striking America, punishing the western society.
It could have been any over-powered, succesfull country, hell it could have been a person, a village, a minority OR majority by whatever different thing they have. The problem is that whenever a nation or people is in trouble, they tend to want to blame someone.
What happened is that someone who could read stood up, and made people believe his ideas, and a whole population started to intensely hate America/the Western world.
I don't have to tell you where that went /o\ (Don't misunderstand me, I do feel sorry for what has happened)
edit: a perfect example for this: a nation in trouble blaming a succesful minority because of the major influence of one charismatic leader: Hitler and the national start of what later became WW2

And for Bush:
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

"I do not believe we have the right to use weapons to force other ways than our's on the people of other countries"
- George W. Bush, governour of the state of Texas, probably around 2000?
Dunno the exact quote
But I have seen video fragments of an interview where he said something like this multiple times.
Ironic, isn't it?

"just saw generalised Americans, and hate grew towards them to the simple fact that America is to them the personification" - But how could they have no notion of that, the terrorrists, Messy? Are the so blind deep in their hearts, that they can't see they're blaming thousands of innocent people that simply live in the country, in the territory "owned" by that government?
Then, where in this planet is it safe to live in? The answer is just that simple, nowhere, not anymore, not anytime in the dark future aproaching...
Should a soldier throw himself to certain death when his general tells him to?..
Sick and tired of people having to pay for others' mistakes.. :\

Also, as for what concerns the palestinian and israeli situation... no matter how much everyone would like to send international help towards those countries... it seems it's just impossible right now. Every single day people die of terrorist attacks there. Sometimes the target is military, but most often, innocent people awlays die... people that were just walking by there... coming from somewhere, going somwhere... someone's husband, someone's father or son...
It's like:
- A sends suicidal bomber to B. Result: 20 people die, prolly (just guessing) 90%+ of that were civilian individuals...
- B blames A for the incident, on a public statement, on local tv's...
- Rebel individuals (with access to dangerous materials, not just terrorrists, anyone, anyone willing to sacrifice their own lifes for revenge, with no concern for what that really means, like from A), from side B, launch their attack... this time only 10 people die... several injured... extensive material damage...
- A will kill 30 the next time
It will never stop, these two countries, maybe because of the lack of control (and/or conditions) from their governments on their own people..... maybe because of the religion they follow with their lives... only real thing you know for sure is that this ongoing cycle continues to slaughter every day...
Sending americans, or britains, NATO, the blue helmets, or even russians for all i care, wouldn't just work. First of, they don't fancy the americans. And second, most importantly, it would be walking into a mine field, where the mines just don't wanna explode, but they wanna hit something badly...
Dunno what to do there..

One thing in what messy said... "a perfect example for this: a nation in trouble blaming a succesful minority because of the major influence of one charismatic leader: Hitler and the national start of what later became WW2"... and continuing to argue on the government vs people issue here, it reminded me of a quote from this movie i've seen several times that i'll never forget (can't recall movie name)... anyways, it goes some way like this:
"If you returned to the past.. with complete notion of humanity's historical events.. and you'd walk into a coffee shop... and there was Hitler there... still a small boy.. a little boy... only 9 or 10 years old... You'd think.... there's the kid that'll grow up and become eventually responsible for the darkest moment known to man... for the sum of 6 million dead, without counting soldiers... You sit by his side, look at him.. there he is, right in front of ya... as you look at him, he's nothing but a simple innocent boy right now....
...would you kill him there?"
