Jr, what you said is not true, it's not that easy.
The problems in most African countries (some like south-africa still have their problems, but use their money progressively and are definitely doing ok) are so deep and wide-spread that there is simply no way out, other than an international revolution..and I don't see that coming very quickly O_o
They have numerous clan-/civilwars, and the aids problem is destroying generations, and as david said, they need children to take care of them when they're older (as used to once be here too).
One thing I think they should not massively do, as Jr already mentioned (as it seems they are trying to do now..altho most immigrants are from above the sahara) is mass-migration towards the west.
I'm not a right-extremist or a radical or something, don't understand me wrong (I am right-wing tho ;p but I'm a liberal
I think everyone is equal..just not worth the same ) but I do think we should close our borders slightly.
IMO People should only be able to enter the (rich countries in) the European Union, if they're good for us economy-wise.
One thing we don't need atm is lazy bums, doing nothing, living off our tax money. We need intellectuals who want to learn and climb the ladder economy-wise.
What we have now is a shrinking percentage of intellectual people, and that approx. 13% of our citizen's who even work at all (I'm speaking of my own country atm coz I don't know that stuff about other countries ;p but I'm assuming it's kind of like that in most 'western' EU countries), which is only 6 million people out of our (dutch) 16/17 million citizens O-o, earn 13% or all our money O_o
And 33 percent of our citizens (all who earn above 50.000 million) earn 66% of our money
that's 1/3 earning 2/3 of our nation's money.
Err..anyway..who am I to tell you stuff you already know and/or don't care about ;p
Oh yeh..and altho I have nothing against americans at all..I think their nation (the USA..oh sorry I meant..the country that was created as god wanted it to be) has been punished for their arrogance by the WTC incident justly.

They'll make 30 kids, 28 will have aids, the other 2 will catch it from one of their 2 husbands/wives.. and thats if they survive birth anyway, cos they got no food or medical supplies...
What im getting at, is, the Africans KNOW they're infecting their generations... yet they still make 30 more kids thinking it'll go away, and all they're doing is making more infected kids who'll be brought to western (or eastern .. if Austrailia love them) countries unknowingly carrying (if they're young enough or just werent told) and spread it here there and everywhere...all because they dont know about Birth Control, and if they did, they cant use it.. cos of religion...

) i would put a better explanation The highest chance for a child to die (in Africa, but in any general bad circumstance considering health-care, hygiene etc.) is around/before birth and in the first 3 to 4 years of life.
And still..then what? O_o They hardly use anticonception anyway, so they won't really find it hard to keep trying.
The children who survive (and especially the girls) will be there (with mostly one or two specifically 'chosen' to do this either volunteerily or forced upon by the parents) to care for the parents.

One other relative thing to this is another proof of the huge aids + religion/superstition problem in africa: There's a certain rumour/superstition in some areas on that continent which makes them believe having sex with a virgin will cure the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (just acting cool for the last part ;p):x The rumour also tells people who are stupid enough to believe in it, that the younger the virgin is, the better of an effect it well have.

Religion is a very big problem yes, everywhere, in every relevant area you can imagine. Religion is almost a synonim (do english people use this word and did i spell it right) to conservative or even reactionairy (same as before ;p) 'progress' (altho the word hardly fits, but is correct), meaning that Religion just..err..well sux
And stands in the way of any progression (actual..err..progressive progression meaning improving the situation at hand x_X).
As Karl Marx said (bah..hate socialism but he's right on things about religion), religion is opium for the people.
There's no other cause for religion than keeping people from thinking for themselves and controlling the stupid mass (a 'mass' of people is always stupid and will obey if you put it right and have charisma. Look at hitler (in a negative way) or pretty much every rebel leader and politician (depends on the cause at hand )). And the very cause of the philosophy (where discussion actually *was* a core part, instead of trying to get a static answer to any of life's questions and forcing it onto a mass of people who would like nothing else but be guided because of laziness and the simple fact of being naive stupid fucks ^^;) --> Religion flux in human's history is simply because there is and will always be a small amount of people who want power and leadership and will use the sheer stupidity of the masses to do this, to keep them silent, and make them work for the religion/country/whatever under whatever social-economic circumstances, just with the hope that they will once be in the kingdom of god, or heaven, or whatever form of enlightment in either way (not talking about nirvana, or whatever enlightened state based on an eastern religion, coz it's based on an entirely different principal).
