I hardly ever play DB any more, so I have no idea how bad things are, but perhaps this would help... Get individual Euro players to sign up at some random place, should they want to play in a league. To ensure games are not cancelled due to lack of players, have a minimum of ten players to a squad ...

Here's an idea for budding mappers...
Ever since DB's infancy, comparisons have been made with the classic Bitmap Brothers game, Speedball. So why not emulate Speedball with a DB map?:p Besides the goals, teams could score by hitting one of five stars, situated along one wall of the opposition's half. When a star is hit by the offence ...

Volleying power preparation
Why have power volleys always been a case of simply tapping a mouse button to get a predictable velocity based on how close the player is to the ball? Wouldn't a system that involved players having to charge up their volley shots be better, so that a player has to anticipate the pass ---> start ...

Shot power modification...
Currently, a player holds down primary fire for about 1.5 seconds, filling up all but the tip of the meter, in order to launch the ball at about 125 km/h... What if the optimum power was achieved by releasing half way along the meter bar? Using a non-linear scale, releases close to the centre of the ...

What would be the point in a best AND worst keeper? There should only be 2 anyway, so it's pretty academic if one wins the other.. Yes, of course, because we all know that most of the team don't get a turn in goal during a match on public servers! Seems like far too many forum users here ...

Random instagib penalty zone thoughts...
Rather than allowing any player to kill any opposition attacker in the penalty box, how about only keeping the instagib mode for goalkeepers and limiting defenders to 80 points per tackle on the ballcarrier? This would encourage teams to tackle ballcarriers further up the pitch, so that defenders ...

Annoyance, perhaps > minor...
How about the bug in db-hole, where if the keeper holds the ball above their own goal, an own-goal is scored!::Pfffff::

DB isn't favoured towards defence, hence we have rarely seen 1-0 victories at top level (DBL1), or in pub games that tend to be much shorter in match length! I can't recall the thread where he posted, but I do believe that DavidM & co increased the maximum velocity of primary-fire shots in DB2.0 to ...

The point I'm trying to make with this thread is that a defender who tries to tackle an attacker should have a chance to get the ball for their team (by two succesful tackles), if they don't camp on the edge of the penalty zone, rather than merely making a single tackle that worsens the accuracy of ...

Calling all sweepers!
Are other sweepers besides myself a little concerned about the amount of time inbetween hammer hits while trying to tackle an opponent? While getting into the official UT2004 release, I've experienced a fair few occaisons where I have gone to tackle an experienced attacker just outside the box (NOT ...

If a keeper was using the 'wsad' keys for moving, q and e could be added to the keeper control keys to give true dives as the dodge move (through double taps)... q= top left w= top middle e= top right a= bottom left s= bottom d= bottom right While on the subject of keeping, I've always thought that ...

Random idea...
Just a thought, perhaps use the option of preventing the ball carrier from moving on one DB server, similar to netball.
By its very nature, it will enhance teamplay and get all those newcomers passing the ball around, rather than thinking that they can run though a wall of three defenders
