When do you press the button? Do I tap it? Do I press just at launch?

I am really new to Deathball and I was curious if there is a place I can find lists of moves that can be performed. I know many of the basic skills including boosting and being boosted. However, I do not know how you curve that damn ball =) Any description you could give of how to do this would be ...
